| This is the proposed draft in the process of designing alumni “Aims & Objectives”. It is now open for discussion. The final resolution to adopt the draft into alumni charter will be taken after thorough discussion from all of us. |
MISSION:
The purpose of this ORGANIZATION is to promote solidarity and
friendship among graduates, former students and friends of the Osmania
University by encouraging the perpetuation of the same ideals which Osmania
University men and women have been taught to uphold while students at the
University; to sponsor, direct and participate in activities of any nature,
including charitable, educational, cultural, religious, social and athletic
activities, which further the interests of the Association members or the
interests of the Osmania University.
OBJECTIVES:
·
The
Association intends to serve as a nucleus between the Osmania University and
its Alumni chapters to promote educational, scientific, social and cultural
exchange activities for the growth and development of Osmania University and
interests of its alumni through global cooperation.
·
The
Association encourages the adoption of the identified villages in India, in
partnership with Osmania University and extending the service sector facilities
like, education, health care and social development and play a role in helping,
identifying and address issues that affect the well being of communities in a global
society.
·
The Association plans to provide guidance, motivation and
assistance for students, alumni and faculty living in India and abroad for
succeeding their ambitions of better career and choosing a professional
advancement of their choice and also the prospects of higher education,
immigration and business opportunities.
·
The Association will act as an information resource center at
either end of the NRI’s and their nominees and
beneficiaries. It will take part in the plans and incentives announced by the
government and their agencies. It will also alert and educate the NRI’s and
their nominees and beneficiaries on investments
and other welfare activities.
·
The Association will organize the exchange programs through a
Foundation for enlightening the children of NRI’s to be aware of Indian History
and Culture and also to invigorate the academic environment among the children
of the members of the Association. It will forge links and partnerships with
the community in Indo-American society. It is also intends to take up
educational development of the deserving children of Indian origin, friends,
relatives and dependents of NRI’s, living in India, who needs the support and
encouragement.

To raise funds for and make
contributions to the Osmania University to promote its development in all walks
of life to establish and strengthen the international cooperation.
STRATEGIES:
·
To
establish an Alumni Foundation to channelise the NRI donations for promotion of
their nominees and beneficiaries in image building, socialization through up
keeping of our culture and traditions of caring, soothing, helping, forwarding,
etc, and to extend its role in the development of Osmania University.
·
It will organize certain fund raising activities to achieve the
objectives and mobilizes donations for transmitting its benefits to the under
privileged.
·
It intends to institute endowment fellowships as grant making for
appropriate training and institution building to equip and strengthen the
community needs that deeply touches the grass root level to bring change in
people’s life style.
·
The Association identifies certain areas that can advance the
opportunities for alumni, students and faculty of Osmania University.
·
The Association intends to promote the establishment of its chapters
all over the United States and extending to other countries.
·
The association is governed by certain set rules and bye-laws.
·
The
Association identifies certain auspicious days for celebration and its
participation to project its intentions in achieving the objectives through its
chapters.
TRANSMISSION:
·
To
extend partial finance and service support in the areas of education, health
care, tourism, travel, pilgrimage etc, and to establish hospitality facilities
at capital city and other major towns, besides at pilgrimage and tourist
centers to the alumni during their visit to India and abroad also extending to
their parents, friends, relatives, students and faculty visiting abroad.

The Foundation will conduct seminars/work shops/conferences in
order to update the knowledge on the status and opportunities at abroad for
both friends and relatives of the NRI’s and their nominees, beneficiaries and set certain goals for well being and
protection of interests of alumni and promotes the social welfare activities.
·
The Foundation intends to organize certain talent tests, to provide
endowment fellowships for higher education opportunities both at abroad and
India. To organize quiz, debate, design competitions at college or state level
on a topic of interest to promote the talents and acquaint them with latest
development in professions..
·
An award may be instituted on behalf of the Foundation for talented
selected students to participate under Cultural and Educational Exchange
Programs with NRI’s. A partial financial help may be extended for travel to the
students and faculty for presenting technical papers at international
conferences.
·
To establish scholarships
for students and/or prospective students of the Osmania University and to
assist worthy and needy students of the University by loans and/or gifts of
money; to raise, hold, manage and dispose of funds and to receive, hold,
transfer and convey all and any real and personal property that may be
necessary or convenient for attaining the objectives of the chapter.
·
To guide the Osmania
University in the design development of new courses, which have long term,
short term and ultimate benefits for both students and faculty.
Privileges of the Members:
1. Every Member
shall bind by the provisions of the rules and byelaws of the Foundation.
2. The parents,
spouse, minor children and nominated friends of every member are eligible to
enjoy the all facilities of the Foundation without becoming an active member,
except the right to vote.
3. Every member
shall be liable for the loss or damage that would be caused to the property of
the Foundation either by himself or by his accompany or nominee.
4. Subject to the
provision of the rules, members who have not been listed as defaulters shall be
entitled to take part in the meeting of the Foundation. They are only eligible
to stand for any office or membership of the executive committee, propose or
second the name of any candidate make any requisition for an extraordinary
General Body meeting or make any proposal to the board relating to the affairs
of the Foundation.
5. No member shall
be allowed to be represent, on proxy and the membership may be ceased in the
event of involvement of any default activity, with respect to the government,
financial institutions and other public service related matters.
6. Every member has
access to expert know how and ideas from fellow members and professional
leaders and specialists.
